AGP Books Best Of The Worst Holiday Hits Contest

'Tis The Season For Another Contest! Presenting... AGP BOOKS' BEST OF THE WORST HOLIDAY HITS!

Here's how it works:

Contestants, please send me Youtube links to Fantastically Awful (or Awfully Fantastic) Holiday Songs. Send ‘em via Twitter: @agpasquella or email (adam@agpbooks.com).

A panel of celebrity judges & I will narrow the list to the top ten. I will then post the links to the top ten here on AGP Books.

Then, the #1 Best of The Worst will be chosen by YOU! Send in your votes via email, Twitter or the comment section on this blog right below the top ten list.

Criteria For Best of The Worst include:

1) Hilarity
Did it make you laugh? Chuckle? Guffaw?

2) Seasonability or "Christmasness"
Did the song/video encapsulate many of the tropes of the winter holiday season? (Sweaters, hats, sleigh bells, egg nog, etc)

3) Musicianship
How does it, like, SOUND? Does it groove? Can you dance to it?

And, as if a playlist of truly fantastically awful Holiday Hits wasn’t enough, one contestant (“someone who sent in a video”) and one voter (“someone who voted for a video”) will be chosen at random to receive a free copy of my book “Why Not A Spider Monkey Jesus?” (That’s one book each. You don’t have to share... although sharing is nice.) Holidays! Music! Free Books! Hooray!

Video Submissions are open until Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011.
The Top Ten will be posted on Friday Dec. 9, 2011.
Voting will commence on Friday Dec. 9, 2011.
Winners will be announced Friday Dec. 16, 2011.
Winners’ books will be mailed Friday Dec. 16, 2011-- hopefully you’ll get ‘em just in time for Christmas!

    Here's my entry - Servotron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElY-4-GB6bo&feature=related

It has beat you can dance to, is Christmas-themed, and even includes the lyrics for karaoke-themed Christmas Wassailing.

I know its a prime candidate for the jury prize - you will know this too!

    Thanks,

    Jim
